Challenges Facing Open Access Of Internal Medicine

By Ruth Reynolds

These days there is continuous discussion on how to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare. The most neglected and important ways to improve our health sector delivery and innovation is by open access to internal medicine. Furthermore, this is a free, immediate and unrestricted high quality information access way that allows a person to find information with all the rights reserved. Therefore, as a future physician, you should have information on open access of internal medicine.

It is important to educate your people so that they can acquire knowledge of health matters. Materials are the source of information. Therefore, the government should extend funds to hospitals and public universities to ensure students, physicians, and patients get the right information. When funds are not provided for by the government, the desire for people to research for solutions becomes nullified.

The access to information in private sector is poor. This is caused by lack of funds that are required to conduct researches. Physicians, researchers, and patients find it difficult to pay a lot of money to get open information on health. Therefore, this factor contributes largely to the lack of knowledge to combat diseases. This affects our health especially to people in the remote areas.

In every sector of each nation, innovation becomes the key to development. When people are not willing to go an extra mile to get information, they cannot find solutions to their problems. Therefore, people should access free information on the internet and other materials to come up with different ideas. Once they are shared, they bring a lasting solution. However, lack of information hinders the development of health sector.

Just like doctors and other physicians, the patients too have the right to access free health information. However, this becomes difficult as the available information given contradicts one another. The information given in each content is different hence creates confusion. Also, professionals like doctors would like to get the information, but it becomes difficult. This discourages the health sector.

Global health equity is another major concern. There is a great gap of getting information between the European develop countries and the poor developing nations. The price charged on materials that have information on internal medicines is too high for researchers, doctors and patients to get. This hinders people from poor countries, from improving their health sector unlike the first world nations.

Public investment is very important in improving the health sector. Majority of health researches on internal medicines are funded by government institutions. Therefore, this is meant to improve medical care and innovation. However, this only happens when students, physicians, patients and researchers are fully funded by the government. Mind you, if the government is unwilling to provide funds, the health sector becomes the worst in providing services.

Many setbacks may arise when trying to access open information for internal medicine. You will face challenges regarding cost required to acquire information on health. Therefore, the government should invest a lot on health sector to ensure that people can be funded to research, and come up with best solutions on health products and skills.
